Trillium Benefits are paid out on the 10th of each month, starting from the month of July of the subsequent year for which the tax return is being filed. If the 10th falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, your benefits will be paid on the last working day before the 10th of the month.
If one has moved since the last tax season, they will need to update their address with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Please contact the CRA with your new information prior to coming in to file your taxes. Afterwards, we shall update the address in your file while filing your tax return. It should be noted that, if you have not changed your address in your file with the CRA, we may be unable to file your return as the information that the CRA has on file and the updated information on the tax return that we are filing will not match.
Surely we can. Even if you did not file your taxes with us, you can come to our office with a copy of your tax return and any correspondence from the CRA regarding the enquiry, and we can provide any assistance that you might require and even submit a response on your behalf.
Yes, there are deadlines. However, if you fail to comply due to unavoidable circumstances, you can go back up to 10 years to file or adjust any tax return. Bring your paperwork to our office, and we shall update your tax filing obligation.
We do offer a double check for anyone who has not filed their taxes with us (PATS). Bring a copy of your return, and we will see if there are more credits or deductions you can claim. If you have any errors in a previous return, we can also help you with filing an adjustment to make sure that you are not penalized further and are able to get the maximum refund you are entitled to.
